Aggressive Tank Mates
Stress reduces colour intensity and feeding response.
Small Enclosures
They need swimming room to fully express natural behaviour and colour.
Fun Facts
- Males intensify ruby coloration dramatically during courtship
- They are constant swimmers but rarely aggressive
- They can change colour intensity based on mood and social structure
- Fairy wrasses sleep hidden in rockwork using a protective mucus cocoon
