slow tissue recession in neighbouring corals
long-term coral warfare in encrusting zones
It needs clear buffer space, especially around its edges where it actively expands.

Pectinia is frequently placed in higher light to “improve colour,” or too low without adjustment.
Both can cause issues:
too much light → bleaching or patchy tissue recession
too little light → dull colour and weak growth
rapid changes → stress and inconsistent polyp extension
It performs best in stable low-to-moderate lighting with gradual acclimation.
